Habits Are Magical Rituals That Invoke What We Desire
What do you want to amplify in your reality?
The word ‘habit’ and the word ‘ritual’ carry such different feelings, and yet- I have found them pointing in the same conceptual direction.

I’ve struggled with ‘habits’ for most of my life because they often felt synonymous with limitation.
“If I commit to habits then there is less ‘unknown’ to play in, less flow, less freedom.”
Leaving wide open gaps in my schedule felt so much better, mentally.
But… during periods of my life where routine was formed naturally, I noticed a deeper sense of feel-goodness emerge.
The sensations went beyond mental pleasure, they brought with them a full-bodied sense of fulfillment.
This observation is what prompted me to reframe my relationship to habits and routines earlier last year. I even recorded a couple of podcast episodes on the topic of routine that you can find here and here.

Last night, another piece of the puzzle landed when I realized…
Daily habits are simply just rituals that incrementally ground our visions into reality.
As we set and maintain these daily or weekly rituals, more and more of our desires are translated from the immaterial realms into our tangible, physical reality.
Thinking about habits this way has completely changed how I feel about them.
Instead of sensing within them the energy of hard work, sacrifice and force, I sense creativity, magic and personal power.

When we take a moment to decide on what we want our daily and/or weekly habits to be, we are essentially deciding what it is that we want to amplify in our realities.
What we care about ⸺ what we prioritize ⸺ what energies we want to bring through more of.
When I decide that I care about my body’s health, I might set up rituals that promote better sleeping and eating patterns.
When I decide that I care about my creative flow and online community, I might set up rituals that prompt me to devote my attention and energy there daily.
Do you see what I’m saying?
When we set up and commit to habits, we are creating intentional pockets of time in our days that are focused on manifesting exactly what we want.

Habits are not limiting, habits help us discover how powerful we really are.
~
What prompted these thoughts this week: A daily habit tracker template that I was inspired to commit to this month via Mika Francis’ Patreon. Surprisingly, I had never used one before! I’m 5 days in now and I’m already noticing how supportive the tool is so…
Here’s an invitation for you ~
You will need: a journal + a quiet space + alone time.
Create a list of the visions that you most want to bring through in your life right now. I would recommend not overloading yourself and narrowing them down to the 3 to 5 most important, but you do you.
~ My example: A more engaged community on youtube.Go into a meditative trance and really feel what it would be like to be the version of you that has accomplished that vision. Live in those daydreams for a few moments to strengthen your energetic connection to them. Feel them as deeply as you are able.
Come out of the trance and for each vision, think of 1 to 3 habits you can form that would bring you closer to materializing your desires.
~ My example: Spending at least one hour a day, no matter what is going on in my life, on work related to my youtube creations.Download and print off a habit tracker and fill it out with the habits you came up with in step 3.
Go about your life and enjoy the daily and weekly rituals you’ve set up for yourself… Knowing that as time goes on, they bring you closer and closer to all that you desire.
